MEET LAURA

Experienced CMO, founder of VIVO Marketing, co-founder of AI-Powered Marketer, performance coach, and speaker.

I grew up in a very high achieving household. My dad lived in 9 different countries with one company to climb his way to the top, and modelled a strong work ethic for my sister and I. When I was little I wanted to be like my dad, to win his love, so I was determined to do well at school, get into the best university, and start my career in corporate.

What you think you become, what you feel you attract, what you imagine you create.

I considered Unilever to be the creme de la creme of marketing so I had my sites set on working for them. I held that vision so strongly that out of 1000 candidates, I was one of 6 chosen, and the only one from Melbourne.

Fast forward 10 years, working at three of the biggest multinationals in marketing - Unilever, L’Oreal and CUB, and I was completely burnt out. My body was screaming at me, I had pain all through my nerves, the beginning of Fibra Myalgia, an auto-immune that is ‘irreversable’, and even though I had gotten every job I had ever gone for on paper, things looked good, I was deeply unhappy inside.

I still remember the moment that everything changed. I was in a meeting with senior senior management, and my boss’ wife had just had a baby. It was clear he hadn’t been sleeping, and things were slipping at work, and probably also at home. One of the senior management team members tore my boss apart, unlike anything I had ever seen before, in front of the whole department.

I knew that this game wasn’t for me. I wanted to lead my life with heart and build connection

So I quit the next day and began on my entrepreneurial adventure. I started VIVO marketing and hired my first assistant brand managers, who came to my home to work with me. It was an incredible leap and has been a journey of resilience, perseverance, reinvention, and personal development.

I started going to every business and personal development course imaginable, went to seminars, joined masterminds, and explored myself in every aspect of my life - business, health, nutrition, love, consciousness, meditation, wealth. I even became a certified life coach. So many say to me their journey from corporate to entrepreneurialism is filled with personal growth. My love of psychology started at school and has blossomed ever since. I’ve been called the Marketing Psychologist more than once.

Since I started VIVO 8 years ago I’ve supported the growth of over 350 brands, built a health retreat and a women’s performance coaching platform, and guided many humans around how to be magnetic in their energy and light people up around them.

Every single day, I thank myself for taking a risk and backing myself. It was the best thing I ever did.

My personal vision is to amplify the impact individuals and businesses make on the world. I love people, and I love working with people to make a difference. I’m a big believer in expansion - which ultimately comes through working on limiting beliefs and programming. Belief is one of the most powerful tools we have to create thriving businesses. Once you have your belief… all you need is incredible guides around you, a cheer squad (or support crew), passion and determination.
